One of the most exciting parts of the festival process is seeing what other projects are showcased alongside your work. It's exciting and nerve wracking, all at the same time! You want your work to stand out but you also want it to blend well. I recommend each time you consider submitting to a festival, you first search the festival's previous years' work and have an honest conversation with yourself about whether or not your work holds up to their bar, particularly when it comes to story. Technical issues can be easily overlooked when the performances are steller and the story and pacing are on point. These things, story pacing and performance are all free (at no additional charge) to the director.
